APC Government A Complete Waste of Time: PDP Slams APC, Abiodun.

A major opposition party, PDP has slammed the ruling APC, stating that Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun that has no business in governance.

In a statement on Saturday, by the publicity secretary of PDP, Ogun State chapter, Bankole Akinloye, he reminds Abiodun to get set for retirement.

He sighted an instance of an approval given by the Federal Executive Committee, (FEC) meeting, presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari last week for the immediate development of the Ondo Snake Island and Burutu ports, regretting that the once celebrated Gateway State is not on a table where its peers are being considered and positioned for endless socio-economic fortunes and opportunities.

Akinloye in the statement recalled how Ogun State thrived and prospered during 2005 of Gbenga Daniel’s PDP administration.

“It would be recalled that it was Ogun State in its eminence as a Frontline State setting the pace for development during the Otunba Gbenga Daniel, OGD led PDP administration in 2005, that first initiated and commenced some unprecedented economic initiatives which got the approval of FEC the same year. Some of the projects include the Olokola Deep Sea Port, a multi-project development zone in Ogun Waterside Local Government area of Ogun East Senatorial District which has been abandoned by the ruling APC amongst three other flag-ship projects embarked upon by the PDP administration.”

He noted that foreign investors are relocating due to the unfriendly nature of Dapo Abiodun and his Government that constructed only a runway without Navigation signals, control towers and terminal buildings for the Agro Cargo Airport at Iperu/Ilishan.

The Kajola Free Trade Zone (FTZ) and the Ogun-Guangdong FTZ, where many foreign investors had commenced operations in 2006, all of whom have now relocated due to the unfriendly and uncoordinated economic policies of the succeeding APC governments particularly the Dapo Abiodun’s administration which has continuously exhibited crass and unpardonable incompetence in core areas of development-oriented governance.

The last in the pack of the lofty economic initiatives which the PDP government got the FG approval for is the Agro Cargo Airport at Iperu/Ilishan, where Dapo Abiodun and his roundly rejected team, not too long ago, made mockery of its resuscitation by only constructing a runway without Navigation signals, Control Towers, terminal buildings and other basic accessories, as required of such world-class facility for an International Cargo Airport.

The PDP as a responsible political organization that is eternally committed to the good and wellbeing of Ogun State and its citizens believes that the volume of what a once glorious Ogun State has lost since the inception of Dapo Abiodun and his sinking APC calls for genuine concern by all. Our dear state holds a special place of pride; it is a state of many firsts, its potential should not be allowed to rot away.

Perhaps, if Dapo Abiodun had shown some administrative fecundity in core areas of governance, Ogun state would have made the list of beneficiaries because the State is eminently qualified to be part of the two beneficiaries of the newly approved $4.7bn for the development of world-class projects from the South West geopolitical zone being the first State in Nigeria to initiate the idea of Deep Sea Port and Free Trade Zones since 2005.

From this unfortunate development, it is increasingly evident that the APC government in Ogun state is an unpardonable setback. A monumental waste of precious time and fortune. Dapo Abiodun, in particular, does not know what to do with the enormous opportunities that are domiciled in the state. No wonder, the great people of Ogun state who have suffered unimaginable retrogression under the watch of the rudderless APC would continue to reject their sinking ship in any free, fair and credible democratic contest.

While the state wallows in the pool of cluelessness of the outgoing APC government, we wish to remind Mr Abiodun that, instead of junketing from one corner of the country to another desperately looking for ways to cover up all electoral frauds with which he hopes to earn a second term in office, he should begin to seal his handing-over notes and get his bags ready for imminent political retirement. Never shall his likes govern over Ogun State again!
