Some basic life skills… Part 1 || Agbaoje

Dress well. It is said that you will be addressed the way you dress. It is not having multitude of clothes to pick from your wardrobe that matters but the way you clean and apply the few ones you wear. Dressing well also implies smelling well. The perfume or deodorant you wear speaks weight about an individual.

Speak clear and confident. Once you open your mouth the world, knows who you are. Be few in words while passing your message in a clear tone and respectful manner. Do not speak to be heard, speak to be understood. That is why many of our mothers who have mastered the skills of communication don’t need to speak to the children in the presence of a visitor, with mere body language, children knows what their mummy is communicating. Speak to create opportunities and build people, never speak to bring people down.

Life purpose. In an article by the Earl E. Bakken Center for Spirituality & Healing, your life purpose consists of the central motivating aims of your life—the reasons you get up in the morning. Purpose can guide life decisions, influence behavior, shape goals, offer a sense of direction, and create meaning. For some people, purpose is connected to vocation—meaningful, satisfying work while others is their dedication to family.

Respect. This is having due regard to someone and their feelings. Respect they say is reciprocal and you can only give it when you have it. How do you teach a new born baby to respect elders? Only by exemplary living. Children deserve to be respected by their parents, this will leave a lasting impression on them as they grow.

Smile. Even in the face of adversity, do not show it. I am a strong believer of crying ones agony out, moreover, it is ridicle for a man to be caught crying. Your agony and pain is not intended to bring others down, rather your smile and cheerfulness should be contaminating, affecting the man next to you.

Speak truth. Be known for speaking the truth in the face of adversity

Accepting situation. Whatever comes your, you can change if you can, if not just accept and move on. Life is too short and encompassing to be complaining about one situation or the other when you can just think forward.

Optimistic thinking. You are what you think. Many people feel down and ejected. I heard some even think they can never be okay again in their life. Think good to your self and others and watch how good things multiply in your life.
